“In this blend of mixology and history, we'll explore an 1861 cocktail created by mourners of Britain's Prince Albert, the husband of Queen Victoria. We'll also examine Prince Albert's vital role in British-American relations during the Civil War, as well as some of the intricate mourning rituals developed on both sides of the Atlantic during this time. Shepherd University alumna Katlin McCreery will join our conversation and appear in recreated mourning attire; additionally, she will discuss material culture and mourning. “
